I enjoy public speaking, and I am happy to tell others about the wonderful and uplifting story of Bettye. I do not charge a stipend to speak at various gatherings; I only ask that I be able to bring my books and make them available for purchase. I am a cradle Catholic, and I have spent many hours researching issues of the Catholic faith. Therefore, some of my talks are related to issues associated with Catholicism.

A brief summary of my background: I hold a Doctorate in Psychology from Tulane University in New Orleans (1991). I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Springfield College in Massachusetts (1983). I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy from Loyola University in New Orleans (1981). I am currently employed as a Psychological Consultant in Shreveport. My husband, Tim, and I have four living children (we lost a son to a heart defect, which is part of our story…) Our children range in ages from 18 to 26 and all are currently in either professional school or college at this moment.

My current topics as a speaker are:

  1. Bettye’s Story: The Power of Prayer in the Life of a Stage IV Cancer Survivor
  2. Understanding Mary and the Rosary
  3. Sacramentals and Devotions of the Catholic Church: Superstition or the Real Thing
  4. Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Purgatory but Were Afraid to Ask
  5. My Medjugorje Story…

Please contact me at info@bright corner books.com to discuss speaking engagements. I look forward to hearing from you.
