Children Pray the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary is a CD that I produced with the assistance of Loyola College Prep Rosary Group in Shreveport, Louisiana. The purpose of the CD was to seek prayers and funds for a family who had recently lost their mother to cancer. Similar to the Luminous Mysteries CD, I wrote the script for the meditations from the perspective of reading the journal or diary of Our Blessed Mother. Thus, the contemplative mysteries are presented through Mary’s eyes. The CD is unique in that the children praying the decades ranged from First Communicants, to students making their Confirmation, to high school students facing graduation. The Loyola College Prep Choir is featured on the CD with a few musical presentations, and we were fortunate enough to have had a talented violinist participate in the recording. Our local Bishop, Bishop Michael Duca also joined us in praying the rosary by leading the opening prayers. The recording was professionally produced by JM Productions in Shreveport, Louisiana, so the audio quality is exceptional. This CD makes a great gift for children receiving their First Communion, for Confirmation candidates, or for RCIA candidates who wish to have an understanding of how to pray the rosary. It’s also a great tool for anyone who wishes to have a recording to assist with contemplative prayer of the rosary. A portion of the proceeds from this CD will be donated to the LCP Rosary Group.
